Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching Bike Fits are renowned for seeing the improvements in comfort, speed and aerodynamics. Seeing the gains and benefits from the bike fitting really boosts our clients confidence and shows in their results come race day.
For the last couple of years Matt has branched out doing custom bespoke builds with Giant and Cadex bikes. Also working with premium brands providing the cutting edge technology in cockpits, wheels, saddles, Groupsets etc making for the clients ultimate build!
Why is a custom build the best option?
Just this, having something custom to you, your needs and wants just makes for a better bike and performance for you all round. Matt looks at every element when putting together a build. Taking into consideration the clients budget, the specification they are looking for such as wheel type, cockpit, Groupset, crank size and so on.
What are they going to be using the bike for? Anything from Shorter Time trial distances to Ironman. Endurance TTs to Road racing. What is needed on that bike to ensure the rider gets the most out of their bike. Is there enough on board hydration? Storage for gels etc. What wheel set will work best disc or deep section rims. What crank length works best for the athlete? Do they have any injuries or discrepancies to take into account and what works best for them. Only something that can be done on a custom build and bike fit with Matt.
Then comes the minefield of custom front ends and Groupsets. Do they want mechanical or electronic components for gearing. Not all front ends these days will work with mechanical. What chainset and chain rings works best for you and your events, one by or double? The list is endless!
It’s all these things to take into consideration and more when it comes to building your dream bike. Matt specs and builds the bikes to the highest quality and perfection. His years of experience especially with Giant and Cadex is second to none. It’s an exciting time with the new Trinity being launched in early 2025.
So, How it works,
Firstly, get in touch with us either over the phone or via our specific custom builds page Custom Bike Builds | Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching and hit the Contact Us button.
Have an idea of what it is you’re wanting to achieve from the build and a budget that’s realistic to you. Then we will arrange a call for yourself and Matt to discuss further and he will then get you a full quote over email for parts and build. He will also give you options on spec depending on the information you discussed in the call. Also in the call to ensure correct frame size is ordered we will need your height and saddle height, so have this information ready to hand.
Then if you’re happy, we ask for a 50% deposit of the whole build and then we get the parts ordered and Matt will build the bike.
Once built, Matt will send a picture of your bike and we ask the remaining 50% is paid before coming to collect.
No build would be complete of course without the bike fit! With all our custom builds you get a bike fit included when coming in to collect it. It’s essential the bike is fitted perfectly for you, ensuring you’re comfortable and aerodynamically dialled in for you and your goals. At this point we also look at helmet selection to ensure you have the best helmet for your position.
Then it’s over to you, to train in the position to really adapt to it and be able to get the most out of your seasons performance. As with all bike fits they are always a work in progress. Each year you will be able to find tweaks and improvements. The more you adapt the more you will get from the fit and races!
