Why do I need a Coach?A cycling coach (or triathlon coach) will set a training plan that will enable a rider to meet the specific demands of their chosen event and help them to achieve that goal. But our coaching goes much further than that. Our coaches will work to identify strengths and weaknesses of an individual rider and will help the rider to make the most of their strengths and improve their weaknesses. We develop unique relationships with our riders in order to understand what drives them, to keep them motivated. By developing this relationship a coach will not want to let down their riders down and in return, the riders will not want to let their coach down; this drives both to succeed. Coaches at Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching not only have the experience and expertise to understand the specific training a rider needs to achieve their goals but we also understand the importance of the rider/coach relationship. Training plans are written specifically for each individual and are highly flexible. Our coaches understand the various challenges that life throws at everyone and we help riders to make the best use of their time, no matter what the circumstances. You don't need endless training hours to be a good rider; you need a good coach who helps you to train smart in the time you have available.

I have contacted you about coaching - what happens next?Once you have made the initial contact through the website, we will send you a detailed questionnaire that you need to complete and return to us for our head coach, Matt Bottrill, to review. Once this has been returned to us, we will contact to let you know the options we can offer and which coach would be best suited to your needs.
-
I am a triathlete - can you help me?Yes! At Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching we see the bike split of a triathlon as pretty much the same as a time trial. Our coaches are all experienced time triallists and some have the added advantage of being triathletes. This means they fully understand the demands of the event and can train triathletes to ride the bike split in the same way as a time trial, producing much improved times and better overall results. Matt has coached Timo Bracht and several other triathletes are also signed up. In 2016 Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching hopes to offer an Iron Man qualified coach who will be able to write training plans for all three disciplines of middle and long distance triathlons.
-
Who will I be coached by?We have nine coaches in our company including Matt. You can see our coaches’ full details on the website. All coaches’ are fully compliant with our training techniques and have a unique insight into Matt’s individual training systems and methods. All coaches are exceptionally dedicated to the sport and will share their training experiences with coached riders to help them reach that next level. Once we have received your questionnaire and Matt has reviewed it, you will then be contacted with options that are available to you. If there is a specific coach that you would like to work with, please state this and we will let you know if there is a waiting list for that particular coach. We do limit our spaces for each coach as we pride ourselves on giving our riders the best possible support out there.
-
What is included in my package? Each coaching package is bespoke to work around the individual’s needs, work and family commitments and training time available per week. We give feedback on your daily training when needed and are 100% committed to do everything we can to support you and help you reach your goals. More details can be found under the coaching tab on the website for what each package includes.
-

Then if you are happy we can get the training started after the consultation.
-

You will then be invoiced monthly in advance of your coaching. We ask that you set up a standing order to be paid to us by the 14th of each month.
